Saturday 2nd March 2019 - a lazy day!

So lazy in fact that this will probably be the shortest blog yet!

It needs to be remembered that our visit to this area was not only to visit the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest, but also to have a bit of a rest and recuperate from the previous 5 or so weeks of travel. And we have tried to do this today. It was helped by the fact that I managed to sort out an appointment to have my hair cut and we needed to get a load of washing done before moving on again, and then we have not had good weather today, so it was easier to stay in our hotel!

We have had some very heavy rain at times here today. It is a bit odd sitting in shorts and T-shirt’s by the pool eating breakfast under a canopy as the rain pours down and you are still delightfully warm! It is also a bit odd that washing can take a long time to dry when it’s 30 degrees, because of the high levels of humidity. Mind you, ironing whilst looking out at bananas and other tropical plants made it quite a novel experience!

So we have read a load today, had a little siesta, a leisurely lunch in our rooms that was nice and simple - bread, cheese and tomatoes! And then as another storm was coming in we stayed here for dinner tonight rather than walking into town. We have been very lazy indeed! There is nothing planned for tomorrow so it will be interesting to see if we can cope with another day of not too much. The jury is out on that one!!
