Back to dry weather again! But not too early a start, only 8a.m. Following breakfast it was a short walk from the campsite up through the forest behind us to a waterfall. The forest was beautiful again, lush green, loads of mosses and lichens on the trees and fallen branches and stones. I took myself off to enjoy the peace and tranquility of it all and was rewarded with seeing the rifleman, New Zealand’s smallest bird, plus a fantail and a friendly robin.

Having taken down the tents we were off in the minibus, heading to Queenstown. We had a coffee stop in Te Anau and then a picnic lunch on the southern shore of Lake Wakatipu, reaching Queenstown around 2.30.
Basic hotel accommodation again, but the joy of those comforts and the knowledge that we are here for 2 nights is huge. Time to sort out the bags and find things that we know we have, just not where they are!
Tonight we enjoyed sharing a meal with Bill and Shabeena down by the lake. A lovely, fun, relaxing time!
